The Framework

Our body shows us when we’ve been stretched beyond our limits and knocked out of balance. But what can we do about it and how can we recognize those first signs? Beyond Resilience to Rootsilience shows us how.

We coined the word in order to create new consciousness - affect real, transformational change required a new language. Resilience is not enough to deal with the stressors and challenges of today.

Our new word, Rootsilience, takes the notion of “resilience” a step deeper, and teaches us to be grounded, rooted and able to respond to stressors from a place of security rather than being stretched beyond our limits.

The Motivation behind the Rootsilience Framework and Book

Resilience is not enough to deal with the stressors and challenges of today. Our new word, Rootsilience, takes the notion of “resilience” a step deeper, and teaches us to be grounded, rooted and able to respond to stressors from a place of stability rather than being stretched beyond our limits.

• Businesses with women in senior leadership are more profitable, provide higher quantity customer
experiences and face fewer fraud and misconduct fines.

• Yet only 8% of women are in the top leadership position in the US and only 5% of women hold executive leadership positions in twenty of the world's largest economies.

• Women are more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, pain, and insomnia than men. Women are more severely affected than men from alcohol abuse and heart disease.

• Women are more likely than men to be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, thyroid disease, depression and anxiety disorders.

• The Rootsilience Framework empowers women leaders to reclaim balance and well-being by decoding the language of our body, behavior and mind.

Our story so far...

With a shared love of nature, a belief in the strength of conscious leadership, and a commitment to a life of sustainability, health and wellness, Rimi and Samantha have come together in search of their authentic selves, connected by the love for the earth that they respect and revere.

Together, and in the words of Sharon Blackie, "we rise up, rooted like trees... (to) save not only ourselves, but the world." It was late summer of 2019 when Samantha first set foot upon the Azores. A guest at Rimi’s family run Lodge, the two bonded over their shared values for health and well-being and set off on planning a retreat together for the Spring of 2020.

With the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and endless retreat reschedules, Samantha and Rimi found solace in bridging their worlds between New York City and the Azores, sharing what was raw and real, what was working and what was not. It was in these weekly calls the revolutionary framework for 'Beyond Resilience to Rootsilience' was born, and so began their journey to empower women to a new and balanced path to leadership.

Rimi Chakraborty finds joy in guiding high performing individuals and companies to true health and real success, living in harmony with our planet, community and ourselves.

Rimi blends her former business world and acumen as an SVP in a management consultant firm, with authentic leadership, presence and mind-body integration to foster a new paradigm of leadership.

Rimi provides leadership consulting for groups, teams, and individuals by exploring personal and professional values and (re)defining metrics of success.

She customizes mindful leadership frameworks that align vision + mission with purpose, based on a holistic framework that encourages a structured exploration of professional and personal topics.

Rimi holds a B.S.E. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from MIT Sloan School of Management as well as various certifications in Forrest Yoga, Yin Yoga, Energy Healing, Energy Medicine, and Yoga for Trauma.

She is the co-founder of 'Minuvida Azores', an immersive travel and learning experiences business in São Miguel, Azores.

Rimi teaches yoga and mindfulness across the globe and online, drawing from over 20 years of personal practice. She has customized mindfulness programs and courses for the University of Toronto, for management teams of various private and public companies, and is the founder of the Mindful Business Leader course.

Samantha Anderson is passionate about inviting individuals to discover their path and purpose, igniting their healing potential and transforming the way we incorporate mind, body, and spirit in our daily lives.

Her career path has focused on women’s empowerment, and she works to create a better future for women and the organizations they lead by facilitating their growth and power.  

Samantha's transformational coaching process guides her clients to identify, create, and steward opportunities that align with their values and vision for the world and for themselves.

She employs methods and strategies to bring focus back to what is essential– what feeds our purpose and allows us to flourish, a balance that makes us whole, present, and well.  Samantha holds a B.A. from Tufts University and earned a M.A. in U.S. Women's History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

As a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, trained at the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, Samantha works with clients to develop and implement effective strategies to improve their health using lifestyle change, nutrition, joyful movement, sleep practices, and stress management.  

She is a Qoya Inspired Movement teacher, a Usui Ryoho Reiki Master, certified in Functional Nutrition with the Integrative Women's Health Institute, and is a SHE RECOVERS coach working with women on all forms of addiction.
